About
Through is an incredibly meaningful word.
It implies a journey, but more importantly,
it promises a breakthrough and resolution.

My name is Matt Yi and my passion is to help others through their difficult times. I have worked with adolescents, retirees, and everyone in between. I have coached and helped people through strenuous times to have them come out stronger and more resilient.

I am a certified Enneagram coach (Your Enneagram Coach) and I am exploring additional coaching certifications. I am not a licensed counselor, but I have taken master's level counseling courses and have years of informal counseling experience.

I currently live in the suburbs of Washington DC (Northern VA) with my wonderful wife, three amazing children and our goofy bernedoodle. My life joys are listening to people's stories, discovering new cuisines with my wife, and making my children laugh. For more a detailed bio, click here.

Values
Story
Stories matter. The story we tell others and more importantly, the story we tell ourselves matters. Our inner voice deeply affects how we move through the in-between seasons of life.

Safety
We need safe spaces to process, think and grieve. Having a safe and non-judgmental presence can help us enter and progress through uncomfortable issues.

Realistic
Mapping out and creating attainable steps to navigate hard seasons is key. This allows for realistic expectations and builds momentum to move forward.

Encouragement
The best definition of encouragement is "to put courage in." Moving through in-between seasons often require external sources of courage and compassion.

Lightness
Challenging seasons can take an emotional toll. In those seasons, it's healthy to find moments to laugh and feel joy because what we are holding can feel weighty.
